Information for current students

This 页面 is primarily for current students in a computer-related program, who are looking at adding or changing their major and/or minor. 

Catalog/Bulletin 一年. 的 most confusing thing about going to school is figuring out what classes you 需要带. 的 information you need to find this our is your catalog 一年, also called your bulletin 一年, which lists  the specific set of classes you need in order 毕业.  Your catalog 一年 is determined by the last time you made a change to your program by adding, changing, or removing a degree, concentration, and/or minor. 的 two best ways to find out your catalog 一年 are to look at

• To look at your DegreeWorks evaluation.  Your catalog 一年 is listed at the top of the evaluation report.
• 和你的导师谈谈.

If you make any changes to your degree plan, you will be updated to the current catalog 一年.  Depending on how far along you are in your program, this may have a significant impact of the courses you 需要带. You are encouraged to talk to your advisor before making any change to your degree plan.

Contact your advisor Every student's situation is different. You are encouraged to contact your advisor whenever you have a question or need advising.

度 and concentrations 

Links go to current catalog 一年. If you are planning to change your major/concentration/minor, the current catalog 一年 is what you need.

If you are researching your current degree, you should change the catalog 一年 of the bulletin to your current catalog 一年. Once the 页面 is open, you can look at different 一年s, by changing the 一年 in the top-right corner of the 页面. 

Computer Information Systems (B.S.)

的 Computer Information Systems major prepares students to work in technical but applied areas of computing. While maintaining an emphasis on programming, it addresses several areas of application, including systems development and cybersecurity.

Computer Information Technology (B.S.)

的 Computer Information Technology major prepares students for a career in certain professional job tracks within the information technology field. 的se tracks include web developer and administrator, database administrator, and network administrator.

• Computer Networking Concentration
• Web and Database Concentration

计算机科学(B).S.)

的 Computer Science major covers the technical areas of computing with an emphasis on programming and algorithm design. It includes a significant mathematics component. It allows students to study traditional computer science topics as well as topics in the newer area of software engineering.

未成年人

的 department offers some 未成年人. 的se 未成年人 are open to any student, regardless of whether or not their degree is Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, or Computer Science. For information on these 未成年人, please check the 大学的公告.

注意: 的 Computer Information Systems degree (Catalogy 一年s 2021年秋季 and 2022年秋季) has restrictions on 未成年人 and these 未成年人 cannot be used to fulfill the degree's 需求.  的se 未成年人 can be added as a second minor. Talk to an advisor before 添加未成年人.

In some cases, there are significant overlap between the 需求 of a degree and the 需求 of a minor. In order to ensure students are learning new topics when selecting a minor, students with computing-related degrees may not select certain 未成年人.

** 的 Computer Information Systems B.S. (目录年 2021年秋季 & 2022年秋季)需要 non-computing小. 的se 未成年人 do not meet that requirement, but may added as a second minor.
